Kiwanis Club of Brantford Charitable Corporation

Introduction:

Annually, the Kiwanis Club of Brantford supports the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada to assist children outside our community. It is also a goal of the Kiwanis Club of Brantford to continue to support various charitable causes locally in Brantford and Brant County.

Primary emphasis is placed on applications that demonstrate benefits to children in
Brantford and Brant County and reflect the objects of Kiwanis.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child
and one community at a time.

The objects of Kiwanis International are:

• To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life
• To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships
• To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards
• To develop by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and
  serviceable citizenship
• To provide through Kiwanis Clubs a practical means to form enduring
  friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities
• To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which makes possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and goodwill.

The fiscal year runs from October – September. The Donations Committee meets four
times per year to present submissions to the Board of directors. Submission deadlines, for fully documented applications are: Nov. 30, Feb. 27, May 31, Aug. 31. Successful applications will be notified by the 15th of the month following the deadline.            

Final decisions will be made by the Kiwanis Club of Brantford’s Board of Directors with recommendations to the Kiwanis Club of Brantford Charitable Corporation each quarter.

The Kiwanis Club of Brantford will advise applicant of the status of your request but
explanations behind funding decisions will not be provided.
